I seem to recall there's an 86 letter compound word in Swedish - the name of a Trades Union.. And in Danish there's a word with 7 consecutive consonants - angstskrig - a scream of terror.  We got the multiple "had" sentences in English at school, more or less as a diversion to see who could come up with the worst version.
