When I worked for Bougainville Copper in PMG, it was said the company lost two tonnes of gold a year.

What!  I hear you say.

This is how.

Bougainville Copper Limited [BCL] uplifted 100,000 tonnes of ore every day except Christmas day when operation halted for that day.

So 364 days a year equals 34,000,000 tonnes . Work out the percentage of two tonnes!

It is the proverbial needle in the haystack.
