Jane Bown: 'There wasn't anything there with Blair'

And finally, we speak to Jane Bown, who flourished as one of the greatest photographers when all about her were men. Now in her 90th year, her works cover all the prime ministers since Winston Churchill, and iconic shots of people as varied as Bertrand Russell, Samuel Beckett and Robin Williams. I've been to see her at her home in Alton, Hampshire. I've been spooked by her beady piercing blue eyes and depressed by the number of shots she took of me when I became presenter of Channel 4 News, 25 years ago. 

She tells me that in trying to photograph Tony Blair, she had grave difficulty. "I'm not sure there was anything there," she said. See my blog for more.
