it’s well known that most ‘best before’  info is a marketing ploy.
I wonder if the buying public’s smell and taste senses are still working!

My son-in-law is a student of "best before" dates - unless his wife intervenes, he throws out the "offending" article. Left to herself, my wife would do likewise.  Having been brought up during WW2, such niceties are foreign to me. Janet was brought up by her gran who worked on a farm at the edge of their village, so she was mostly unaware of such matters as "tainted" butter (we ate it) or hard cheese or mouldy bread.  Not only that, they had an inside toilet and a bath.
