Delivering a fitting tribute to the Merchant Navy: Royal Mail unveils stamps featuring historic trading ships from the Cutty Sark to the Arctic Convoys

The Royal Mail launched a collection of stamps to commemorate the servicemen of Merchant Navy sailors in Greenwich, London today. The series of six stamps celebrates the work of men aboard the Cutty Sark, Atlas and Royal Mail Queen Elizabeth among others. An accompanying collection of miniature photographs reveal the treacherous conditions endured by Merchant Navy sailors during the Second World War. War veterans celebrated the collection's launch today aboard the Cutty Sark which is the last known tea clipper.
