have you come across Ralfy c?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBWXcNHYfX8 he’s on Youtube reviewing many scotches.

I don’t know how his nose can detect around 27 smells in this 12 year old Ballantine's blend – or 19 different tastes in it.

let me know what you think of Ralfy.

Colin,

One can only dream.  The most expensive malt I ever bought was the 17-year old Glengoyne (£40) I got at the distillery during a tour while at the BI 150th in Glasgow.  I checked the Fettercairn Fasque online, and found a gaggle of whisky snobs damning it with faint unpraise. I got it as a gift, so what is there to complain about? It looks nice and smells nice, and I might have a dram over Christmas.
