When I lived (and worked) in Denmark, mid 60s, there was a Lloyds surveyor lived not far away. He wasn't long in Denmark, and his previous posting had been in South Africa. His wife would tell any ready ear how hard life was in Denmark. No servants, no nanny for the children, etc. In her previous life she'd had many such.
