Frank, I asked a retired Mersey Pilot today, as to why the new Pilot Boat has Windscreen Wipers rather than the old Clear View Screens. His answer was that a clear view screen is a permanent obstruction on a small window, it is different on a ship with the big wheelhouse windows. Mike
