Segregating students: the way forward?

The segregation of men and women during university talks by certain faith speakers has got many people rather hot under the collar. Today, there will be a protest outside the offices of Universities UK, which represents universities up and down the country. The organisation announced last month that universities were entitled to separate men and women for fear of discriminating against religious groups. But should religious rights trump gender rights in this way? Our Culture and Digital Editor Paul Mason will be reporting on the demo, and the writer and broadcaster Yasmin Alibhai Brown will be hot-footing it from there straight to our studios, where she'll answer that and other questions, alongside Omar Ali, president of the Federation of Student Islamic Societies.
