Ron has the right answer Mike.

I was referring to you wearing out your knees prior to the installation of the new parts.

Mike. Welcome to the Club! In 2007, January to be precise and then in October,I too had both my knees completely replaced out here in France. Saw the bill for one of them which wasn't a million miles off the prices that you quoted. Something like 8KEuro. Didn't have to pay anything as ex-pats who have paid into the NHS during their pre ex-pat days are, by some arrangement, contrad against Euroland imports to the UK who use the NHS. Don't know if you got the radiographs of the ops but you get them to keep out here and they are a pure revalation of engineering in it's basic form mixed up with medicine. Most orthopaedic and other invasive surgery is anyway. Very interesting. Mine are working fine after 6 years so hope that yours do too.I climb ladders to the roof, cycle, drive, walk etc, but I certainly do not like to knee on a hard floor!! If anyone came too close in an unfriendly encounter think that they might come off the worse from kneeing job though ! I know that this is not strictly BI but you did raise the topic. Salaams.
