Hugh
‘tis hard to imagine anyone worse than romney for president – he has been known for quite some time as the ‘flip-flop’ kid.
he goes from hard left to hard right overnight sometimes and doesn’t appear to have any grasp of reality.
he and his running mates have managed to alienate 47% of the population and all women, blacks and hispanics here – that should be in the Guinness book of records! If romney is elected I am saving up to move to a mountain top in Chile!

there is no shortage of dismal towns here or dismal hotels.

incidentally, just seen this............[the natives are restless]

About 10 p.m., there were shootings reported in the 600 block of South Pierce Street as well as at the intersection of Gen. Ogden and Olive streets, police said. A bullet hit the male victim on South Pierce in the leg, and the male victim at Gen. Ogden and Olive was struck in the shoulder.

Colin,

Is there no beginning to this man's intelligence?

Apropos similar - in, I think, Friday's Herald, there was mention of the experience a chap had not long ago in the US. He arrived at some dismal town and got lost in a rundown area - he was driving, and tired, and needed to find somewhere with a bed. A motel hove into view and he made his way to the check-in place. The lady demanded ID and he handed her his UK passport which had written on the front, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (in capitals). She looked at the photo and returned the passport to him. "Where you from," she asked. "Glasgow," he said. "That's in Germany, ain't it?" was the startling response. She told him it would be 65 dollars and not to answer the door if anyone knocked.

Hugh.
