Colin,

>From my 50th birthday to just before my 72nd birthday Ena & I lived most of the time in Spain. During that time I met a lot of folk who had civil service pensions, who had been Police, Teachers, Nurses etc and they all complained that they did not have the freedom of having there pension paid into any other than a British bank and they had to pay British tax on it before they could change it over into a Spanish bank. Whereas all the folk who had gone to Spain with (what I will call normal pensions) or sold a business that they had built up can have it paid into bank or country which they like. I have friends who had money stashed all over the place in Europe, this allowed them to pay next to nothing tax in Spain. They only declare there old age pension that we all receive. Why do think that Spain is in the state is in now? Not because the Brits who retired there are paying there share.
