Bentley has revealed details of its fastest production model ever, the 205mph Continental GT Speed.

Set to make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from June 28-July 1, Bentley's latest coupé uses a 616bhp version of its 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 engine, which also develops 590lb ft of torque. That's enough to propel the GT Speed from 0-60mph in 4.0sec and on to that 205mph top speed.

The four-wheel-drive Bentley uses a new eight-speed automatic gearbox compared with a standard Continental GT's six-speed unit, and features a lowered ride height, revised settings for suspension and steering and 21in wheels.

Exterior changes are subtle, with a tinted front grille and lower air intake, as well as a "rifled" finised to the exhaust pipes. In the cabin, the GT Speed features Bentley's top level of "Mulliner Driving Specification" leather trim as standard.

No price has yet been announced for the new model, which visitors to the Goodwood Festival of Speed will be able to see in action as it tackles the hillclimb in the hands of Juha Kankunnen, Guy Smith and Derek Bell.
