Hugh,
It shows that ex-marine engineers like to chat a lot. We no not seem to have
any problem when we meet each other at the dinner. My trouble is that I can
never seem to remember what we have talked about next morning but that is
maybe due to the amount of whiskey has been drunk to keep the throat
lubricated.
Malcolm.

John,
I don't know where the lady's been all her life. In my experience, people
(even in London) chat to strangers, but not all of them, which is fine. On
our way back to the caravan near Inveraray we met a stranger who stopped to
talk - he was bound for Inveraray. An hour later we were still chatting.
"Bugger it," he said, "Too late to go to Inveraray." So we continued our
chat on the way back to the caravan park. That was last year. Yesterday, at
the same caravan park, the same chap came out of the bar when we were going
in and the conversation resumed. Out of all the people we chatted to there,
four (including him) were ex-marine engineers. What that proves I can't
say.
Hugh.
