Another one for the collection, many thanks. I was a wee bit confused until I realised I was reading about the other John Anderson, the more famous one having died in 1796.  Two clever men.  It may well be thought a blessing the first John didn't visit the Antipodes, given his 18thC middle class lower Clyde area accent would certainly have discommoded his students there.  But he wouldn't have worn a tweed suit, in any kind of weather.
