Further to my recent communication wrt politicians starting out with only a few million and ending up very well rich indeed - far in excess of what would be possible from salary alone. A book by Peter Schweitzer, "Throw them all out" takes financial details from public records of politicians on both sides of the aisle, and reveals how information available to politicians due to their positions on committees, etc. and/or financially advantageous information given to them by persons looking for some kind of "favour" - such as IPO's.......ensure they make big bucks.
No, its not illegal for a US politician but is it what we elected them to do?
It is not as crude as bribery, but if the above insider information was known to you and I and we used it to enrich ourselves, the SEC would soon be investigating us. But our politicians have made themselves immune to this action, it's perfectly legal for them to do it.......but not us!
So is it a surprise that the voters voice is ignored?
The answer is NO, unless you have something to make your politician richer-------have you?
Does this system apply only to US politicians?
When are we going to, "Throw them all out"............?
