New Orleans has become a hot place to come and build a career. It’s a welcome change after decades of seeing our young people move on after college because of few opportunities here. The Teach for America program has played a big role in bringing young people to the city. Many Teach for America grads have stayed on, either as teachers or in other professions.

Articles in Inc. and Forbes magazines have picked up on the new demographics of New Orleans, amplifying the trend at the same time.

The Idea Village and Launch Pad are two business incubators launched after Katrina to help young entrepreneurs looking for ideas , startup capital or office space.
