A member of the New Orleans Police homicide unit examines a burned vehicle as a crime scene technician takes measurements in the 2100 block of Pauline Street while investigating an early morning murder.
New Orleans police are investigating the murder of a badly burned male who had been shot multiple times early Saturday morning.
The New Orleans Fire Department responded to a car fire in the 2100 block of Pauline Street and found the body of a male around the corner in the 3600 block of North Rocheblave Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the coroner's office removed the body from North Rocheblave, investigators examined the charred remains of a black sedan parked next to the construction of a new school.
Police believe the car fire and the murder are related, but have yet to identify the victim or possible motive. Since last night, ten people have been shot in the metro area, two of them fatally.
If you have any information, call Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
