[BITList] Busted arse turbine

My steam turbine experience was a few weeks on Nowshera as relieving 3E/O, plus 2 years doing  ER systems for the Staal Laval AP version in Odense. So I turned to Volume 2 of Sothern's Verbal Notes & Sketches, where I find no mention of overspeed protection beyond an Aspinall governor.  Google gives at least 5 different modes of control including the simple governor.  One or two strike me as over ambitious and a bit gimmicky.  Last lines of protection should be made of steel and concrete, sort of.
