Yep it's all over the web - The 'blogs' are all jumping on the bandwagon and making a big deal of it.

It's written in Java and it does require you to enter a password.  It is a Russian' initiated trojan and it has been 'backtracked' extensively.

( Apple have made available an update via Software Update that patches the 'hole' in Java)

A person gets 'infected' by basically downloading very suspect videos!! And in their need to view the content overrides all their sensibilities about being cautious and they click on anything that pops up!

The article by  FSecure is accurate in ascertaining if you have been infected and the steps to remove it

Now then, are your Apple updates up to date? If so then don't worry. 

Are you running Skype or M$ Word for Mac? If so, then don't worry.

Do you go to 'suspect' web sites where you download files that when they are opened ask for a password? If you do, then stop doing that.
