For the period, the ships are too smooth and unconvincing, a fault I've seen in other films.  And, in general, I wonder why they think it necessary to go into such (expensive) detail.  Once I'm engrossed in something on TV, the size of the TV, and whether it's HD or not, ceases to matter.  And ditto with a film. A good script and a good story are all that matter. The mind fills in the blanks.
