I've had that site in my system for a few years, but it's good to be reminded of it. One point - I only recall the CE/O being portrayed once on film, and that was recently, on BBC TV.  In that, he is on the bottom plates wearing a white object - rag or other was hard to see - round his neck, and having an urgent conversation with Bruce Ismay (!!).  In the background, a Heath Robinson machine with a vast flywheel slowly revolved - possibly emitting clouds of water vapour, I don't recall clearly.  The website would have the Chief in the ER directing operations - would he have been there at all?  Evidently he was there at the end, but I'd think that was a personal decision.  I seem to remember that, in BI, the place of the Chief in an emergency was up top, acting as a go between.
