Last year when the Daniel Adamson team appealed for Funds amounting to £2.4 M they were turned down and told that there was too much maritime restoration going on  i.e. the Cutty Sark !

Shieldhall she was in quite good nick, so a small fraction of what was spent 
on the Cutty Sark might suffice.  This begs the question of why it's not 
available.  And there's also the Waverley. She managed to stagger into the 
present year of service after a major donation from a Scottish lottery 
winner and 25 quid from me.
