Never heard of it, Mike, but I'll keep a look out. When we lived in Denmark 
(and, I suppose, before and after we lived there) the Danes froze the bottle

of schnapps in a block of ice before drinking it in very small glasses. 
Skaal was only said to a glass of schnapps, or other spirits, never to beer.
