It was precipitating down in Kinloss.  A bunch of thoroughly wet and miserable airmen were shambling down the road, hands in pockets.  The Group Captain's car drives past.  Car screeches to a halt. Groupie gets out: "You men! Don't you know you must salute the CO's flag?  Who's the senior man here?"  A Master-Signaller steps forward smartly, salutes with drill-perfect, quivering, hand.  "YOU ARE, SAH!" CO thinks, shakes his head and drives off, p**sing himself with laughter!
