              2 more shootings reported after Bourbon, Canal streets incidents

              In addition to two separate shootings in the French Quarter and Central Business District that left two men dead and 10 people injured early Tuesday, three other men were injured in two more incidents a short time later, New Orleans police said. These shootings occurred in the St. Roch and St. Claude neighborhoods.


              A man was shot at 4:17 a.m. in the 1800 block of Spain Street in St. Roch, said officer Garry Flot, a New Orleans Police Department spokesman. About an hour later, two more men were injured when gunfire broke out in the 1200 block of Louisa Street at 5:24 a.m. in St. Claude, Flot said.

              The victims' conditions were not immediately available.

              The three shootings followed another burst of violence earlier in the morning on Bourbon Street and on Canal Street.

              A shooting on Bourbon, at St. Louis Street, in the French Quarter about 12:30 a.m. injured seven people and killed a 25-year-old man. All of the victims were caught in the crossfire when two people began to shoot at each other in a crowd of costumed revelers celebrating Halloween, police said.
