Though it's nothing to do with the issue, it occurred to me to wonder who buys from the lady's shop.

I see mention of Grande Bretagne in the context, but I am unaware of any Grand Bretagne-wide situation like the one portrayed.  Certainly not in Glasgow or Edinburgh (the film talked of British cities, specifying none).

As well as keeping an eye on such things, it is as well to have sense of proportion.
