I assume the cartoon reflects the current situation regarding the producer of Midsomer Murders, Brian True-May. He was suspended from the show after he said his policy was that the show must reflect some sort of "true Englishness", ie, without the admixture of "ethnic" persons.  Not Britishness, he said, but Englishness. So, over 200 murders (2 or 3 an episode) and counting, with only the true English present - thank God there are no persons of colour, not even passing through.
