Its all down to those UK Civil Serpents.

One of our daughters was born in RAF Changi Hospital while I was serving in the RAF in Singapore.

Later in life she wanted a UK Passport to travel to Europe from Australia. She hadn't at that time taken out Australian Citizenship.

She had to jump through many a hoop until I wrote to the UK High Commissioner in Canberra to complain that she had been born in an RAF Hospital while I was serving HM The Queen.

There was more but....
