Greenock has a fair number of things - a pub, streets, a wet dock, two colleges, a library - named after Watt, but he didn't come back here all that much.  A small dam he designed was filled in a few years back (despite protests, mine included), to make way for .... a place where a dam used to be.  And some of the breastwork on Port Glasgow's harbours was his.  There is a document in the Nationl Archives of Scotland covering a visit to Birmingham by a relation - possibly an ancestor - of mine, in connection with the purchase of an engine from Watt to work in his factory in Paisley.
