It seems a knighthood can be given for anything nowadays, typically because somebody else got one for something similar.  The whole thing is devalued.  But it was an honorary knighthood proposed for Jobs, so different rules apply.  HMQ should stop conferring them unless she's allowed to say who gets them - both kinds. I do recall a move to give Fred Astaire an hon knighthood was thrown out - pity.
