Being up kind of early (before 8), I picked up yesterday's local paper and had a look through it.  A presentation to a couple of teachers who retired from a local school, with a 60s musical theme plus Marilyn Monroe. In her closing remarks, the lady half of the pair, keen to make an inapposite point, said, "The days of children sitting at a desk and the teacher at the front of the class are long gone.  Children are now engaged and active in their learning."

Question : How did wee lern two spel and rede and cownt by age 6?  Discuss (300 words).  5 marks.
