what do you think is the state of mind of the folks who come up with these ideas?
to me it seems to be similar to, ‘so let them eat cake’.  You don’t have a pen? then use your typewriter.
Or -- oh, you don’t do the grown up curvy connected writing stuff – well, here – borrow my typewriter, I always keep it at the ready.................................WTF

More psychobabble.  Keyboarding skills???  Any fool can work a keyboard.  I learned joined up writing at age 5, but now I use a variety of styles, depending on what kind of pen I'm using. None of it stunted my growth. One of the advantages a pen(cil) has over all the keyboards in the world is that it works in a power cut - it (a pencil) also works under water.
