Frank,

In Scotland, these clowns could have been charged with simple breach of the
peace, acting in a manner likely to cause trouble, eg, getting thumped by
someone and liable to cause an affray - taken in for their own protection.
No emotive stuff like religions or heroes or anything else need have come
into it. We get the same thing after some football matches when two groups
of Scots - one group still in an ancestral Ireland they've never visited,
and another group avoiding any taint of Scottishness by waving the flag of
St George - would batter two kinds of shit out of each other and anyone
wearing the wrong colour of scarf, were it not for a hefty police presence.
Good christians all of them.

Hugh.
