The Clan Currie Society's Tribute to Private Bill Millin
This video has just become available on Youtube, it's worth a look.

A tribute to famed D-Day bagpiper Private Bill Millin filmed at the 12th annual Pipes of Christmas concert on December 18, 2010. The concert video, produced by the Clan Currie Society, features Clan Chaplain, The Rev. Dr. David Currie, the Kevin Ray Blandford Memorial Pipe Band and Pipe Major Scott Larson.

Private Bill Millin, who passed away on August 17, 2010 at the age of 88, played his bagpipes on Sword Beach during the D-Day invasion of June 6, 1944 under orders from his commanding officer, Brigadier Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat. To the Allied troops he was a great source of inspiration and remained so for the rest of his life.

The video opens with two of the tunes Millin played during the Normandy invasion, the Road to the Isles and Highland Laddie performed by the Kevin Ray Blandford Memorial Pipe Band, followed by a tribute from Clan Currie Chaplain, The Rev. Dr. David Currie. The video concludes with a Lament performed by Pipe Major Scott Larson.

The video was directed by Jesse Patterson and aired over HomeTowne Television, December 24-26, 2010.

Complete details on the concert and the Millin tribute can be found at pipesofchristmas.com.
