congratulations on the ‘fire’. I just got my elder son one for his birthday. he lives in florida, so  when he was here for a few days he tried it out and it seems fine, 
he was so busy with it I ddidn’t even get my hands on it......................................!!
let me know how it goes when you get into it – I may get one, they are a handy size.
I have had the kindle reader for some time, it is excellent.

I bought a couple for Xmas presents and they seem to do everything I expected of them so the update will be interesting, mind you my wife isn't exactly keen on hers but that's just a technically challenge thing
