The Police Department provided details of the weekend violence in preliminary police logs released Monday morning.

On Sunday about 6 p.m., Milton Davis, 22, was fatally shot in the chest during a quadruple shooting in the 2500 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard in Central City, said John Gagliano, chief investigator for the Orleans Parish coroner's office.

Two other men were hospitalized in critical condition, while a third man was listed in stable condition, police said.

Bob Bardy, commander of the New Orleans Police Department's 6th District, where the shooting occurred, said the attack may be related to other recent shootings in the area.

Police responded to another fatal shooting, this one early Saturday in Gentilly.

Garelle Smith, 29, was shot about 1:30 a.m. in the 3500 block of Hamburg Street. Smith died from gunshot wounds to his head and chest, Gagliano said.

In addition to the homicides, police also responded to four nonfatal shootings across the city during the weekend.

Two men were shot Saturday at 9:12 p.m. near the corner of Conti and North Johnson streets in the 6th Ward.

The victims, 25 and 24, were sitting on a porch in the 1800 block of Conti Street when three men who wore dark clothing walked up and opened fire, police said. The 25-year-old was hit in the hand; the 24-year-old was shot in the right foot. Both men went to Tulane University Hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not available.

On Sunday shortly before 4 a.m., officers responded to another shooting in the 200 block of North Peters Street, near Iberville Street, according to the police log.

A 22-year-old man was in an argument with another man, who shot the victim in the leg, police log said. The 22-year-old was treated at Interim LSU Public Hospital. Police issued an arrest warrant for Raneldo Nicholson, 24, in connection with the shooting.

Also Sunday, just before 11 p.m., police were called to the weekend's third shooting.

A 55-year-old man and a 27-year-old man were inside a house in the 1400 block of North Claiborne Avenue, just off Esplanade Avenue, when the suspect knocked on the door, police said. The 55-year-old opened the door and let the suspect in. At that point, police said, the suspect pulled a gun and began shooting, hitting the 55-year-old in the left eye and grazing the 27-year-old's ear.

No information on the suspects' condition was available, nor was information on the suspect.

The final shooting was reported Monday about 3:15 a.m. in the 10800 block of Roger Drive in eastern New Orleans.

A 33-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were getting out of their car when two people opened fire on them. The victims were treated at Interim LSU Public Hospital. No information about their injuries was available.

Meanwhile, a popular Mid-City watering hole was the victim of a stickup early Saturday.

A man, armed with a semiautomatic revolver, walked into Finn McCool's about 3 a.m. and ordered the bar patrons to put their hands in the air. The robber emptied the cash register and fled.

Police did not provide a description of the robber.
