So it was Drysdale Pumps he served his time with - I thought it was Weir Pumps. I used to see it on the Yoker side of the river when crossing on the Renfrew Ferry.  He went into the DO, then to sea - can't be bad. It must be something in the air - Billy Connolly got his start on the upper Clyde, observing his workmates, and Chic Murray served his time in Kincaid's.
