I can't see the point in such pedantry, impressive though it is.  We are talking  here about a real memorial to real people in a real place.  Virgil wrote about mythological heroes in a place that may not have existed. Surely time has sanitised any association with severed heads and same sex relationships. Put the bloody text up in Latin and be done with it.
