what a way to run a country indeed...................

Big business, military industrial, wall street, insurance, and such have so fashioned the US political system over the years to their own ends, that they now have the money and clout to influence/pay off the majority of elected politicians whose love of money overrides any concern/love for the US. Consequently, the present political climate in the US is less obvious and much more subtle, but probably just as corrupt as Nigeria. There is no concern for the individual US citizen, because individually they have no power [or money] to compete with big business, military industrial, wall street, insurance, and such – so there is no money to be made in bothering about their plight.

The goal of these interests is to defeat the first black US president – this influential group can’t stand the idea of a US president who is not white and not one of the ‘establishment’ – and ]gasp], does not have their interests uppermost, but is actually trying to and concerned with bettering the life of the ordinary US citizen – whose real wages and standard of living have steadily declined over the past 20 year. [and if you don’t believe that – research the stats for yourself]. The anti-citizen influences noted above now scream “socialism”, whenever there is a move for the government to help or aid the ordinary US citizen. Of course it isn’t socialism, it’s simply doing what the ordinary US citizen elected them to do – to wit, make their lives better. They were not elected to make the rich, richer, which is the goal of the republican party under the cloak of ‘capitalism’.

The leader of the opposition, bonehead boehner, [known as ‘Tan Boy” because of his extra-ordinary sun tan in the middle of winter] is apparently unconcerned with keeping the US government funded – because the US government is not paying him off; but he is very much concerned with keeping his well paid, cushy job. To this end he is pandering to nut-cases/tea partyers who will vote for him if he panders to them, so “demanding victories on abortion or gutting environmental regulation to keep the government open, the president made it clear that that was not acceptable, and neither are demands to cut 60,000 Head Start teaching positions, or medical research, or other items that are vital to many Americans and the fragile economic recovery.”

Politicians with no love for the US will vote to shut down the government.------ what a way to run a country indeed.

It makes the US look ridiculous to the rest of the world and reinforces Al Qaeda’s anti-american rhetoric, with predictable results – thanks Tan Boy!
