Gaelic languages
a.. Goidelic languages or Gaelic languages, a linguistic group that is one of the two branches of the Celtic languages; they include:
a.. Irish language (Gaeilge)
b.. Manx language (Gaelg or Gailck)
c.. Scottish Gaelic language (Gàidhlig) sometimes called Erse in Scots and English
When referring to Irish or Manx, it is usually pronounced pronounced /'ge?l?k/. In Scotland, "Gaelic" is usually pronounced /'g??l?k/ or /'gæl?k/; ['gal?k] in Scots and Scottish English.[citation needed]

My late brother, Iain, never failed to correct me if I pronounced Gaelic as "Gaylic". It's "Gallic". Neither of us spoke it.
