the American political system.

have you noticed that whichever party is in power little good actually trickles down to the man in the street - the voter?.
ever wondered why?
the answer in one word - fiefdoms.

Subject: fiefdoms

with acknowledgement to "cyber war" a book by Richard a Clarke.

Congress is a federation of fiefdoms, subject to the vicissitudes of constant fund raising and lobbying of those who donated the funds.
First, everyone wants his or her own fiefdom.
Second, Congress shuns regulation, and spits it out.
The influential donors have made the idea of serious regulation of their businesses [e.g. energy, banking, transportation, wall street, health, etc.] for the benefit and safety of the public, as remote as public financing of congressional campaigns or meaningful limits on campaign contributions.

Accordingly, with all this frantic activity there appears to be little time left for the voters who elected them in the first place - and the results speak for themselves!
A little lip service just to keep them quiet, but little of substance.......................................

can the system be changed? - absolutely not.

if you had all the perks a politician has - would you want change?
