tks, for the *.dat info, hugh
you are fortunate to have the dat video viewer to view the holsteins. what operating system are you using?
strange thing is that I have received and forwarded plenty of similar photo groups - without these odd results.
I am blaming the aussie government for the resulting problems.

I quote : "The extension, .dat or .DAT, indicates that a file is a data file. Servers save email attachments as .dat files, even though they were created as other file types such as .jpg, .doc or .mov -- these are not really DAT files. Operating systems use DAT files to log histories and changes during use. One example is Windows' INDEX.DAT file--it records all the websites you visit and your email history."

When I tried to open the dat file in the first of Colin's multiple e-mails, a small video viewer opened with it. No doubt this resides in my system for such a purpose, but I couldn't immediately see how it worked, so I left it alone.

Hugh.
