You would have understood more if I had told you that the video comes from the island of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea where they have just about concluded a civil war.


The island was based upon a copper mine owned by CRA. 


Once the war started everything was removed from the company.


This included back generators of various sizes, axles and gear boxes off vehicles. They locals used these to generate electrical power in the villages which have never had electricity.

It rains a lot on the island! It look s like that chap had a good head of water on that pipe.
