      Violence kills two men in West Bank incidents

      Two men were slain Sunday night in Jefferson Parish, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said.

      Just after 7:20 p.m., officers found the body of a 22-year-old Avondale man lying against the driver's-side door of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck at the corner of Glen Della and Cathedral drives in Avondale, Col. John Fortunato said. 

      The victim, Darnell Beverly, suffered several gunshot wounds, Fortunato said. 
      The Sheriff's Office was unable to establish a motive or identify suspects in the killing Sunday night.

      In Terrytown, a male was killed around 8:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Helen Street, the Sheriff's Office said.

      More information about the victim and the circumstances of the killing were not immediately available.
