One afternoon in the early 50s, probably 1950, some friends and I were in Greenock Public Library seeking diversion. I took a new book from a shelf and opened it.  "Listen to this, " I said, and they listened.  "It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen."  "Good God," they said, or words to that effect.  But I took the book out and read it : Nineteen Eighty-Four, it was.   George Orwell was more prescient than he knew when he dealt with the rewriting of history for political purposes.  Could someone tell me the difference between fundamentalist Islam, and fundamentalist Christianity?
