transocean is already trying to reduce/stop possible awards to kin of person lost in the accident.

alleged present value of deepwater horizon $26,764,083, Transocean claims in the filing. Before the accident, the rig was worth around $650 million.  bit of a depreciation!

they are asking the limit of total awards to be $26,764, 083. and why not? transocean is not a charity! "let them eat cake" says CEO steven newman.

with 50% going to lawyers fees and expenses, I estimate each of the 11 next of kin might get $1.2 million in 9 years time!

transocean is in business to maximise profits [and pay big bucks to lawyers] - not to be concerned about wives and families of the dead/missing.
