Mike,

Gypsum/Carluke doesn't ring any bells, but I'll check it out.
Fruit/orchards/preserves = Carluke, moreso in the past.  My
Gowling/Golding is also an ancestor of the Scott family who founded R. & W.
Scott, Ltd, Carluke, makers of jams and marmalades, etc, now trading under a
modified name.

Migrations usually have reasons, often a reason to leave A and another to go
to B - push/pull as they will have it in Social History.  It's rarely
possible to establish reasons, but I've done it with some branches.
