Of this affair, as far as the movers and shakers are concerned, only the financial and political consequences matter.  So the air is full of the sound of technically challenged rich arseholes throwing blame around.  Meanwhile, real people are doing real things at the coal face whence the oil is leaking out, unremarked save for the odd footnote. The level at which the "discussion" is taking place is akin to that in which kings are said to build empires and buildings, whereas all they do is sit on a cushion and give permission to spend unearned money while others do the building.  The executives of big companies are too far from the action to have even a clue about what is happening on the ground.  And I believe most wouldn't know which way to turn a nut on a bolt.  A case in point - the present head of the BAE Systems shipyard on the Clyde has a background in subway maintenance.
