I remember it well, though not the fags and congratulations to the opposition. Goal scorers were not routinely gang raped on the pitch, indeed, one of  the Danes Greenock Morton signed in the 60s - a brilliant ball player - would refuse even a manly handshake while gesturing to his team mates to get on with the game.  On one occasion he scorned an open goal, angrily directing a nearby team mate to get off his lazy arse and score for a change.  That goal would have been his hat trick.  Morton's statistics for that season were : 36 played, 1 lost, 3 drawn, goals for 135, goals against 37.
